Research And Implementation Of The Vocational School Library Management System

With the school expansion and the growing size of teachers and students ,the number of books in a school library is accordingly increased. In order to meet the teachers'& students'needs for quick borrowing , it has been a common desire for many teachers and students to construct an efficient automatic management system based on a general information platform ,which enables the information to be timely released & shared and realize the relevant information management. Rapidly statistical data analysis will be of great help for the inprovement of the library's management,and efficiency.In order to make it convenient for the teachers and students to borrow the books,to realize the organized automation of the library's management ,to save the school's cost, and to meet the current needs of information society's development, this paper developed " the vocational school's library management system". This paper proposed a C/S network scheme based on the analysis of the domestic and foreign library management system's features, functions and the trend of development. Using modularization as its design philosophy ,adopting ASP.NET page programming as its technology for software development and utilizing VS as its main program design language, this system realize the functions of book subscribing ,book purchasing,book cataloguing & book circulation , report form printing ,lending inquires ,book cataloging, retrieval statistics and system maintenance through the interaction with SQL Server database via ADO.NET component developed Microsoft. That is to say, this system can realize the convenience, efficiency, effectiveness and timeliness for the return books . Focusing on the basis of demand analysis, this paper emphasizes the design of the modules of book subscribing ,library management,book statistics & the books'network management. The realization of these modules enables this system to meet the school staff's and the students'respectively needs of book inquiry, book borrowing and etc., and it can free them from the constraints of time and spaceas well. When the teacher borrows the reference books, the system also can provide the collection of relevant books in the library; when the student borrows books, he can also inquire which study materials are most frequently borrowed and query the lending list of magazines & periodicals. In the process of his deep research, the author tried his best to realize different kinds of convenient friendly user interface and data reports through the practice of designing and developing a small and medium-sized college library management system. This paper expounds the basic function,design,and implementation that the college library management software should have.
