Wireless communication has went through the 2nd generation.And now the communication technology of the 3rd generation is being used all over the world.Due to the irrationality of the spectrum management,the spectrum has not been utilized efficiently.The spectrum that has not been allocated can not satisfy the growing bandwidth demand.Under this circumstance,Cognitive Radio emerged.Cognitive Radio is an intelligent technology for spectrum sharing.Cognitive users can access the spectrum holes opportunistically,which can help a lot to improve the efficiency of the spectrum.LTE-Advanced has already raised the idea "carrier aggregation",in order to aggregate the unallocated spectrum to satisfy the growing bandwidth demand.In this paper,we introduce the background of"carrier aggregation".And then we discuss the method about how to allocate the bit and carrier with single user and multiple users.Then in the system with hardware limited,we discuss the resource allocation both in downlink and uplink.At last,we introduce the hardware platform for cognitive radio and the module in the FPGA.First,we discuss the problem about how to allocate the carrier and bit with the limitation that the transmit power must under the interference to the primary users.And the cognitive users also have their own bit error request.For single user and multiple users,we propose the optimal joint bit,power and carrier allocation algorithms.And we also simulate the algorithms and obtain the performance.Second,for the system with hardware limited.Some researchers have done some work about it.They noticed that hardware limitation haa two aspects:transmission limitation and sensing limitation.Based on these,we discuss the resource allocation in the hardware-limited system.We propose optimal joint carrier and power allocation algorithms for the downlink.Considering the complexity of this algorithm,we propose a sliding window resource allocation algorithm.This algorithm has a low complexity and is more suitable for the implementation.Then for the uplink,the window algorithm also can achieve a good performance.We simulate the optimal algorithm and the window algorithm and compare the performance.Last,we introduce the cognitive radio platform and all the function in it.FPGA is the center of the platform.And it has accomplished some function about data transfer and physical layer related algorithm.The function are including:the interface with PowerPC,the interface with DSP,filtering,CP detection etc.Carrier aggregation emerged as a new technology,so there are still lots of work to do.And for the specific implementation,somebody has already suggested to realize it with turning on and off the carriers.In this paper,we discuss the problem of resource allocation and also what's the effect of hardware limitation.We propose some method to realize it,and simulate the performace of the algorithms.
