Design And Implementation Of Virtual Chengde Mountain Resort Panorama Wander-through System

Chengde mountain resort is an ancient Chinese palatial garden, where emperors escaped the heat and dealt with the government affairs in Qing dynasty. The mountain resort, the Summer Palace, the humble administrator's garden and the ligering garden, which are important heritage sites under state protection, are considered the four finest gardens in China. In December 1994, summer resort and its surrounding temples (jehol temporary imperial palace) was inscribed on the World Heritage List. And the scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration approval for the state 5A-class tourist attractions. In order to let the world tourism enthusiasts can have a more in-depth understanding of it, we developed numerical mapof the mountain resort and panoramic roaming system.First this paper studied the technology of vector map, and fabricated SVG numerical map of the mountain resort. And then made a further study and research of SVG files. By establishing search query algorithm to Document Object Model tree, search function for scenic spot has been realized. Besides, some basic functions of the numerical map of the mountain resort are also finished in this paper, such as graphics zoom, reduction and translation.Then this paper had a deep research on virtual roaming technology. It changed the traditional means of scenic site introduction on tourism website. Comparing to static pictures or introduced video, the virtual roaming system has incomparable advantage of the dimensional feeling and interactive mode. During the process of realizing this syetem, first, cylindrical projection, rectification, split joint and fusion method are used to finish a 360°panorama map, and then an interactive operation of this panorama map can be completed by using animation scripting language.Finally, this paper realized numerical map system of the mountain resort. The author completed map's basic functions such as browsing and searching, zoom, etc. and 360°panorama virtual roaming and interaction effect of a scenic spot can be obtained by this system. Thus the system makes up for the drawback of the summer resort tourism information.
