Cigarette industry has been the country's big profits, product quality is the key to win market in the face of fierce market competition. Many factors affect the quality of cigarettes, including the air temperature, humidity of the cigarette factory, where stores and products cigarettes, have a corresponding standard. Environmental monitoring system of Cigarette Factory is constrained by wireless sensor network, which can effectively overcome the shortcomings of monitoring system of the traditional wired building, such as high-cost cabling, network inflexible, unreliable data transmission caused by the aging cable, unhealthy Cigarette Factory's environment. In a word, it will have a great application prospect in the field of Cigarette industry. Therefore, it is of great significance to research and establish a practical platform for environmental monitoring system of Cigarette Factory based on wireless sensor network.The background and current progress of wireless sensor network is first introduced the paper in detail and the importance for the research is expounded. Second, this paper gives wireless sensor network a brief introduction, describes the sensor network architecture and main features, especially the relationship between routing and node energy consumption. Third, In order to maximize the life cycle of wireless sensor networks, combined with previous studies, the improved algorithm based on LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) are presented, the result of Matlab Simulation shows that the algorithm is to extend the life cycle of the network better than clustering algorithm based on the provisions of LEACH. Fourth, Monitoring platform of Cigarette Factory is built, where main components are designed in detail including the architecture, function modules, data acquisition, system process. Choosing ZigBee technology to realize wireless sensor network, the network is formed by self organizing according to the model of clustering routing. Environmental data scattered in Cigarette Factory such as temperature, humidity, CO2 gas is detected, transmitted to database server. The system realizes the function of data display in real time, data query, report / trends through the appropriate analysis and processing. Finally, it summarizes the investigation and indicates the prospect for further work.
