With the rapid development and progress as well as the extensive application of wireless sensor networks, people have an increasing demand for location-based services in various places, especially in the complex indoor environment or under enclosed conditions, such as underground car parks, mines, large supermarkets, exhibition halls, airport lounges, hospitals and other places, often need to determine the location of targets or items. However, as the indoor environment is complex, and there are many other interference factors, at present,3D localization technology is not perfect, and so that it can not be extensively used. Therefore, this paper aims to design a wireless sensor network localization system with low cost, low power consumption, and more practical.The study is mainly based on 3D target ZigBee network system, the main contents are: first, study and analyze the current wireless localization system, and then compare the advantages and disadvantages of the systems. Study Wireless sensor network protocols and industrial standards and ZigBee technology based on wireless network standards. Study some algorithms of range-based and free-range from the system implementation cost, accuracy, feasibility and applications, choose the localization algorithm based on RSSI, and make an improvement about the result and increase the accuracy with the least square method. Hardware platform implores integrated wireless module including 8051 microcontroller and the Chipcon CC2430 chip, the development of the module program is based on ZigBee protocol stack, develops and debugs the program in the IAR. Finally, design system's control interface by MATLAB software, the PC is responsible for the call and calculates position's coordinates, and displays the blind node's position, and complete the localization system.Test results show that:the localization system meet the requirements of low cost, low power consumption in 3D space. Finally, according to the inadequacies of the system, some methods and ideas are provided to make a further great progress.
