Study On The Language Of China's TV Talk Show Hosts

TV talk show is a kind of program form based on "conversation", the host is the soul of the program, and the language used by the host plays a vital role in the TV talk show. In combination with specific cases, this thesis discussed the host's language used in television talk show in terms of linguistics, pragmatics, rhetoric and other related theoretical knowledge. On the basis of the dynamics of conversation, the thesis studied the language constructions and the language arts demonstrated in host's language in TV talk show. The host's construction discourse was analyzed in the view of the principles of cooperation, association principle, the principle of appropriateness. From the context, situation context and cultural context, the thesis discussed the influence of context on host's language. The speaking art, listening art and body art were used to study the host's language arts. Personal language style, Consistency of language style and Orientation program were employed to study the host's language style in this thesis. An appropriate, decent and personalized language is the goal that one host hopes to pursue, and it is the key factor for TV show to survive and win in the intense market competition as well.
