Along with the fast development of global international trades, ports are playing more and more important function in international cargo circulation. So it has great significance to monitor the port cranes structures, in order to make sure the safety of production in ports. As vibrating wire sensors are stable and reliable, which is widely used in construction engineering to do static testing, this article did a research to the feasibility of vibrating wire transducers to realize dynamic testing in port cranes structures strain.Vibrating wire sensors has been used in structure strain in static testing. However, according to author's searching in domestic articles, there is no actual application in dynamic testing. Based on the research to the principium of vibrating wire sensors, the paper made a data collecting system, which can be used in dynamic testing. In addition, combined with GPRS long-range data transmission theory, this system can also realize long-range monitoring. The main study content and achievement includes following items.(1) Research and design of dynamic data collecting electrocircuit of vibrating wire sensors. This paper made an improvement to the inspiring part and collecting part. As a result, the hardware electrocircuit was simplified.(2) Upper data collecting and display monitoring software design of vibrating wire transducers. This paper used VC++ and modularization exploiting method to compile the data collecting and display software. So the software is easy to operate and maintenance, and has good interface and expansibility. Software realization of the data communication, data shows, data processing, and other functions. And we can output many kinds of data, so as to do more data processing.(3) Collectivity designing of long-range structure monitoring system. With GPRS and other safe testing technologies, this research built a wireless long-term dynamic monitoring system, which can be applied in port cranes, so as to make foundation to the port cranes structure monitoring and the wide application of vibrating wire sensor in port mechanical engineering. (4) Design of data collecting system with vibrating wire sensors. By comparing this collecting system to Donghua DHDA(5923-1394) signal testing and analyzing system, we proved the accuracy and integrality of this system. Via experiments validation, We initially proved that vibrating wire sensor can be used in dynamic testing of port cranes structure strain.
