"Family is the basis of country, harmony is precious to family. " Marriage and family social harmony are complement and benign interaction with each other. Building socialistic harmonious society is a huge systematic project, including various aspects of society; marriage and family are indispensable and important component.This master thesis through the ethnological field investigation to understand Mosuo maternal marriage and family system; employed the method of literature research to combed the domestic and foreign research status and the Marxist theory about aspects of marriage and family reviews; then used comprehensive analysis, by the Marxist basic principle for foundation, combined with sociology, economics and other related theory, discussed the relationship of sexes economic and marriage family system.This master thesis is divided into four chapters:the first chapter is the introduction, introducing the background, purpose and meaning of the research, the domestic and foreign research status, research methods and innovations. The second chapter has described the Marxist theory of marriage and family. The third chapter has take the Mosuo matriarchal society marriage and family system for example to analyze the relationship between the both sexes economic behavior and the marriage and family system, and the inheritance and change of the matriarchal marriage and family system, is the most important and difficult part. The fourth chapter has evaluated the matriarchal marriage and family system comprehensively, and put forward some thoughts on the modern marriage and family system.Mosuo matriarchal marriage and family tradition system in Yunnan province, is a kind of both ancient and modern marriage and family system. For a long time, the Mosuo matriarchal society marriage and family system and both sexes economic behavior have been adapt to each other, promoted society to develop harmoniously. Marriage and family system of Mosuo established on the basis of both sexes of economic behavior, and changed along with the development and change of both sexes economic behavior. Mosuo maternal marriage and family system has reacted the both sexes of economic behavior through the thought idea, the economy, religion. This kind of reaction includes two hands: hindering and promoting. The Lugu Lake is located in the eastern of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and at the fringe of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, between High Mountain and deep valley; Chinsha River has cut off the road in the south. Due to the inconvenience traffic, the Mosuo person, in the Lugu lake area, has a little tradition between the outside world, Mosuo maternal marriage and family system has limitations. The rationality and limitation of Mosuo maternal marriage and family system have important enlightenment for modern marriage family:Firstly, strengthen the legal system of marriage and family. Secondly, strengthen the moral construction of marriage and family. Last but not least, adhere to the principle of according to law and morality combining the rule.
