In the early decade of the 21st century, the upsurge of the British Literature translation in China witnessed the special interest in the introduction of British women writers and the translation of their works. This thesis, based on the statistic analysis of the first-hand material in the transmission and reception of British writers in China, highlights the situation of British women writers in the new century, with the focus on three representatives:Virginia Woolf, Doris Lessing and Joanne Rowling. With the approaches of comparative and communication theories, this paper tries to tackle four problems:first, by statistic analysis of the medio-translation material, pinpointing its discussion centre; second, combing out the detailed evolutional traces in the transmission and reception of the three British representative women writers in China; third, summarizing the characteristics of these transmissions and receptions; fourth, case study of Virginia Woolf's influence on Chinese writers' creation. The discussion of transmission and reception of British women writers in the new century China is an interesting topic which though is only preliminarily tackled in this thesis, is one deserving further attention and unremitting study.
