Objective: Compare the dimensional stability and the elastic deformation of alginate impression material, agar impression material, silicone rubber impression material and polyrther rubber impression material by soaking in 2% glutaraldehyde and Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water for different time.Methods: There are two molds in this experiment, and we need to make four kinds of impression materials for each mold, measuring the dimensional stability and the elastic deformation of all impression materials. Every kind of material of each mold has to be made for three groups and there are five pieces of material in each group. Totally, 120 pieces of material are needed in the experiment. The experiment is divided into three groups. The first one is to contrast, and the other two are used for measuring. One is soaked in the 2% glutaraldehyde, and the other is in the Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water. Both of the two groups should have the same time which should be 15min, 30min and 45min for each piece of material. During the experiment, we need to measure the length of the impression material's marked lines before and after soaking. Eventually, we can gather all the statistics and analyze them.Results: 1,After being soaked in the 2% glutaraldehyde and the Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water, the size and the elasticity of the impression material have changed (P<0.05). And the longer the time is, the greater they change. 2,Different kinds of impression material have different changes in their size and elastic deformation (P<0.05). Among them, the lowest rate of changing is the silicone rubber impression material. 3,When the alginate impression material and the agar impression material have been soaked for 30min, the sizes of them appear statistic difference(P<0.05). When the silicone rubber impression material and the polyrther rubber impression material have been soaked for 45min, the sizes of them appear statistic difference(P<0.05). 4,There is no statistic difference to soak and disinfect the impression materials by Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water and 2% glutaraldehyde (P<0.05).Conclusion: 1,If the material is soaking and disinfecting for long time, there will be effect on its size and elastic deformation. Among these kinds of material in the experiment, the alginate impression material gets the greatest affection, and the silicone rubber impression material gets the smallest affection. 2,The alginate impression material and the agar impression material being soaked for 15min, and the silicone rubber impression material and the polyrther rubber impression material being soaked for 30min have no obvious influence on the dimensional stability of the impression material. 3,The Electrolyzed Oxidizing Water can be used for disinfecting clinic impression materials.
