Objective: Explored the imaging of the Non-cancerous prostate with 3.0T magnetic resonance arterial spin labeling (ASL) and the value of ASL in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Methods: Thirty five men who were suspected Prostate Cancer (PCa) were examined with MRI,the Complaints of them were Frequent urination,Urgency urination,Nocturia increased and escalated PSA. Prostate cancer was histopathologically proven in 17 patients(mean TPSA 207.77ng/mL, range 0.76-1733.24 ng/mL; mean age 63.5 years, range 16-84 years) and non-evidence of cancer was determined in 18 subjects(mean TPSA 13.71ng/mL, range 0.55-94.79 ng/mL;mean age 70.6 years, range 51-80 years) . So we divided the patients into two groups:Group of Prostate Cancer and Group of Non-cancerous prostate. The two groups were received conventional sequence:T1WI,T2WI and Arterial spin labeling(ASL) entirely. Besides, ten Prostate Cancer and twelve Non-Prostate Cancer patients were received Perfusion weighted imaging(PWI)examination. We applied magnetic resonance arterial spin labeling (ASL) and Perfusion-weighted imaging(PWI)to evaluate the perfusion of the Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer. Results: In the examination of ASL, in Non-cancerous prostate group(18 cases),the average perfusion value of peripheral leaves of the prostate was 104.19ml /(100 g*min); The average perfusion value of the central zone was 137.79ml /(100 g*min). Patients with prostate cancer(17 cases), the average perfusion value of the cancer in peripheral leaves of the prostate was 152.80ml /(100 g*min) , that of the cancer in central zones was 170.47ml /(100 g*min) ; The average perfusion values of the peripheral leaves and the central leaves of the Non-cancerous prostate, the peripheral leaves of Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer in peripheral leave and the central zones of Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer in central zone Compared separately, the values of P were entirely less than 0.001(CI 95%). In the examination of PWI , Non-cancerous prostate group(12 cases), the average perfusion values of peripheral and central zone were 176.55ml /(100 g*min), 597.30ml /(100 g*min), respectively;Prostate cancer group(10 cases), the average perfusion values of cancer in peripheral and central zone were 449.98ml /(100 g*min), 756.74ml /(100 g*min), respectively. The average perfusion values of the peripheral leaves and the central leaves of the Non-cancerous prostate, the peripheral leaves of Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer in peripheral leave and the central zones of Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer in central zone compared separately, the values of P were entirely less than 0.001 (CI 95%) too. Conclusion:In the examination of ASL, The average perfusion values of the peripheral leaves and the central leaves of the Non-cancerous prostate; The peripheral leaves of Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer in peripheral leave and the central zones of Non-cancerous prostate and prostate cancer in central zone entirely have significant differences. Therefore, the patients who Suspected with prostate cancer ,but dued to renal dysfunction or other reasons can not be examined with PWI, MR ASL examination can be used to add diagnosing.
