Objective:Compare differentiation with the clinical efficacy of thermosensitive points moxibustion and traditional moxibustion treatment of knee osteoarthritis and assess the clinical efficacy of thermosensitive points moxibustion for treatment of knee osteoarthritis. Methods:Single-blind randomized normal control groups for clinical trial selected,38 patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into two groups, the 19 patients treated with thermosensitive points moxibustion therapy and another 19 patients in contrast group is treated with traditional moxibustion; before and after treatments of these two groups'symptoms were compared and observed by Pain VAS score points and evaluated the clinical efficacy. Results:Clinical total effective rate of thermosensitive points moxibustion treatment for knee osteoarthritis was 84.2%, superior to the traditional moxibustion group. KOA symptoms scale score were compared, with the course of progress in the two groups have been effectively alleviate the symptoms (p=0.037 <0.05), thermosensitive moxibustion treatment group symptom improvement was better than the traditional moxibustion group (p=0.003<0.01), after three months, the results showed that the thermosensitive treatment group was improved and also there was no side effect and for long term treatment. (P> 0.05), while symptoms of the traditional moxibustion group after treatment were not improved as much as thermosensitive group and were recurrenced. (P=0.001<0.01). By pain visual analog scale scores (VAS) in two groups can effectively relieve patients with osteoarthritis of the knee pain (P<0.01), in which the thermal effect of moxibustion group of pain more than the traditional moxibustion group advantage (P<0.01),3-month follow-up results after the comparison, thermosensitive moxibustion treatment group analgesic effect of long-term efficacy is extremely stable (P= 0.166>0.05), while the control group of traditional moxibustion treatment of pain after the end of March there are different Degree of recurrence (P<0.05).Conclusion:Traditional moxibustion treatment can treat knee osteoarthritis effectively in clinic and reduce the clinical symptoms and pain. However efficacy for long term treatment was not stabilized and also there were different degrees of recurrence.Evaluation of thermosensitive points moxibustion for treatment of knee osteoarthritis confirmed that its efficacy in clinic was superior to the traditional moxibustion therapy and also symptoms and pain can relieved quickly. Besides there was no side effect and result of long-term treatment was stabilized. Thermosensitive points moxibustion therapy is worth using widely in clinic. |
