[Objective] To study the distribution of C-reactive protein levels in the different types of TCM syndromes in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. As well as the relationship between C-reactive protein and body mass index (BMI), fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc),white blood cell (WBC) count and neutrophil percentage (N%) and other indicators. It may provides a reference for the objective of TCM syndromes of type 2 diabetes mellitus.[Methods] We collected 95 cases of patients diagnosed as type 2 diabetes,21 cases were dry-heat with Yin deficiency syndrome,33 cases were deficiency of both Qi and Yin syndrome, 22 cases were retention of phlegmatic dampness syndrome,19 cases were blood stasis of collateral syndrome. The patients were examined the targets as below:C-reactive protein(CRP), white blood cell(WBC), neutrophil percentage(N%),body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc), systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure.[Results] 1.CRP levels of retention of phlegmatic dampness syndrome group were higher than other syndrome groups. The difference statistically significant (P<0.01).2. Using correlation analysis, in type 2 diabetic patients, the serum CRP levels was positively correlated with age (r= 0.280, P<0.01), duration (r=0.327, P<0.01), BMI (r=0.251, P<0.05) and WBC (r=0.275, P <0.01). Serum WBC levels was positively correlated with BMI (r=0.203, P<0.05), waist circumference (r=0.233, P<0.05), systolic blood pressure (r=0.206, P<0.05), diastolic blood pressure (r=0.281, P<0.01), CRP (r=0.275, P<0.01) and N%(r=0.271, P<0.01).3.Using linear regression analysis, in type 2 diabetes, age, duration, WBC levels and CRP showed a linear dependence; diastolic blood pressure, CRP, N% and WBC showed a linear dependence.4. Comparative general factors, in type 2 diabetic patients, body mass index (BMI) levels and waist level of retention of phlegmatic dampness syndrome group were higher than other syndrome groups. The difference was statistically significant (P all<0.05).[Conclusion] 1. In type 2 diabetic patients, the CRP levels of retention of phlegmatic dampness syndrome grope were significantly higher than the other 3 groups of syndromes. It suggested that the inflammatory states of type 2 diabetes may be the one of the pathological essential of the retention of phlegmatic dampness syndrome.2. In type 2 diabetic patients, CRP levels was positively correlated with age, duration and WBC; WBC levels was positively correlated with diastolic blood pressure, CRP and N%.3. In type 2 diabetic patients, the BMI and waist circumference of retention of phlegmatic dampness syndrome grope were significantly higher than the other 3 groups of syndromes. It suggested that the retention of phlegmatic dampness may be the one of the pathological essential of obesity. |
