The National Hygienic Standard for Drinking Water (GB5749-2006) includs 42 regular indices and 64 non-regular indices for water quality sanitary requirements.The indices are much more than the old standard. The provision of disinfectant and disinfection by-products is more rational, the demand of microbial indices is more comprehensive and scientific, the content of organic compounds indices is extensive, and the strict degree of indices is moderate.This standard is close to the world advanced level in whole structure and quantity.This paper analyses deeply drinking water using the chemical chromatography analysis, stationary phase micro-extraction, bio-fluorescence detection technology, establishing and improving water quality analysis and detection technologies of metal, pesticide residues, microbiological, toxicological, disinfectants and by-products of disinfection in the new Hygienic Standard for Drinking Water (GB5749-2006). The detection limits, relative standard deviation, and the recovery, precision and accuracy standards have reached new limit requirements, and 86% of the target detection technique is superior to national standards.Combining the single factor (single index) water quality evaluation method with water passing rate of quality comprehensive evaluation method (GB /T 206-2005), this paper analyzes and evaluates the water quality of W city roundly.lt also studys the difference between W municipal water supply with the new municipal water quality index system of indicators in the sensory properties (turbidity), metal index (Mn), organic indicators (oxygen consumption), indicators of disinfection byproducts (chlorate, and chlorite), etc. Then anlyses the cause of specific differences in secondary pollution from the pipe network, water treatment and disinfection process,water source, reservoir, and many other aspects.According to the main water quality problems of W City,this paper puts forward many kinds of technical measures such as the raw water pre-oxidants, iron and aluminum laminate coagulation, improving filter technology, improving chlorine dioxide technology and raw water pipeline transmission and distribution, water management, etc. Comprehensive water quality compliance rate reaches 98.9%, better than the national standard(95%),so the health and safety of drinking water in W city are made sure.
