Objective:To discuss and evaluate the feasibility and the middle-long term therapeutic efficacy of reconstruction of the second hepatic portal for the treatment of Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS).Methods:From April 1995 to March 2011,48 Budd-Chiari syndrome patients with occlusion of hepatic veins or accompanied by occlusion of inferior vena cava(JVC) were recruited for the clinical study, including 29 males and 19 females (average age 33 years). Free hepatic vein pressure (FHVP)were measured through catheterization pre and post-angioplasty. Perioperative evaluation of clinica symptoms, and venous patency ratio were evaluated during follow-up.Results:Forty-three patients were successfully operated and success rate is 93.5%, five patients were not successfully operated because of different reasons, five patients were accompanied by occlusion of inferior vena cava(IVC) and were given IVC'S angioplasty. Patency rate of the targeted vessels were 97.7%,93.0%,86.0% respectively after 6 months,12 months and 24 months. Conclusion:Reconstruction of the second hepatic portal is an effective therapeutic method for the treatment of Budd Chiari syndrome with occlusive hepatic vein or accompanied by occlusion of inferior vena cava(IVC),which should be utilized reasonably for the treatment of this syndrome.
