Urban green space is known as the "green lung", which has huge ecological functions and benefits. It is an important part of urban ecosystem. Especially those urban green spaces which are closely related to human habitats are not only have rich resources, but also have great ecological and landscape functions. Due to the complexity and peculiarity of urban green space, the urban ecological park vegetation recovery is of complexity. As the short time of urban ecological park construction and development, the theory of urban ecological park vegetation recovery is at the exploratory stage, which needs to be further improved and perfected. Vegetation recovery plays a crucial role in the construction of urban ecological park. So some theories studying in this field is quite necessary and meaningful.First, this essay proposes the strong practical significance of the research based on the background and the object of this study. From collecting lots of domestic and foreign literatures on ecological park and vegetation recovery, the author has got a basic understanding of the status of study at this topic and the direction of this research.Then the essay describes the details, the functions, the characteristics and types of urban ecological parks as well as the meaning, the methodology, and the system of vegetation recovery. Combined with the vegetation recovery case studies and kinds of urban ecological park,it summarizes the main problems and trends of urban ecological park and vegetation recovery. By analyzing the theories of ecology, botany and other related disciplines, combined with examples of domestic and foreign related cases, the author takes the method of horizontal reference and puts forward that the urban ecological park vegetation recovery should follow the theories of Basic Ecology, Restoration Ecology, Landscape Ecology and Plant Physiological Ecology, etc.At last, this research discusses the theory and practical methods of urban ecological park vegetation recovery combined with the specific case of Five Maple Urban Ecological Park vegetation recovery planning in Nandan, Guangxi.(1) After a comprehensive survey and analysis, the research analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threatens of Five Maple Ecological Park vegetation recovery with the SWOT analysis model, which lays a foundation for the planning and effectiveness assessment of vegetation recovery afterwards.(2) Combined with the ideas, objectives, principles and basis of vegetation recovery, applied the ARCGIS software, the author analyzes the terrain elevation, slope, aspect and other factors, divides the planning area into 6 classes,27 small classes by soil type, soil thickness, and vegetation status, and brings forth vegetation recovery strategy for each small class.(3) The planning mainly includes three parts which are plant landscape functional planning, plant species planning, and plant configuration planning. In the planning of landscape function, the park is divided into four categories as water conservation forest, soil and water conservation forest, scenic forest, and ecosystem health forest, in order to adjust the plant landscape structure to ensure the organic link among different function partitions. In the planning of plant species, the choice, the proportion, and the configuration of plants are studied in detail, which provides strong support for the success of vegetation recovery. In the planning for plant layout, specific target landscape is set for each small class, the mode of plant configuration and the kind of plants that should be increased are all planned. Finally, three major benefit assessments and analysis are done for the construction of vegetation recovery.(4) Special attention is paid to the zonal vegetation throughout the entire studying process. In the design of plant configuration mode, the author considers the following factors:ecological landscape forest system construction, zonal vegetation landscape construction, the application of native plants, species of plants suitable for animal feed, shelter and breeding, and site factors that influence the distribution and the growth of plants as slope grade, slope position, soil type, soil thickness and so on. Puts forward a plant configuration mode that can benefit the survival of animals, protect and attract animals, and increase the diversity of city park animals. The focuses of this research are the humanistic care for animals in the process of urban ecological park vegetation recovery and the choosing of suitable recovery strategy and plant configuration mode for each small class according to the site situation, which should also be paid special attention to in future ecological park vegetation recovery planning.
