The dry gas seal has been paid greatly attention as soon as it appeared. For its distinct advantage as lower leakage, longer lifetime, it has been widely used. There are many researches on dry gas seal at home and abroad, which mainly studied the sealing performance of the film in different structure parameters and sealing parameters. Thus, they are based on huge suppose. We know that the film's thickness is micron-size, any tiny deformation between the edge will change the film's thickness, it will also change the seal performance. People always ignore the deformation of the seal rings because they supposed each seal ring as a rigid ring. In fact, the pressure distribution of the film and the deformation are coupled and they influenced each other, FSI analysis will improve the accuracy and make the simulate more precise to the actual working conditions and engineering design.On the base of model of the film between the seal edges,the change relationship of the performance parameters of the dry gas seal was analyzed when the seal ring is deforming. The deformations of the seal ring can be divided into two kinds:heat deformation and force deformation. For the force deformation, a MATLAB program was compiled which can calculate the coupling effect of solid and fluid of dry gas seal, and then the performance parameters of dry gas seal were obtained. The height of back support and back pressure influence on seal rings deformation and has been studied, the relationship between different pressure and speed has also been analyzed. For the heat deformation, a program was also compiled to calculate the temperature distribution within the seal rings, then the heat deformation of the seal rings was obtained. Taking the heat deformation into the fluid-structure interaction program, the performance parameters can be calculated in the case of considering both heat deformation and force deformation.Besides, according to the research in different pressure,different rotational speed and different temperature contrast, stress change of the seal rings can be received, it can be used to analyze the failure of dry gas seal that caused by the undue stress.To a certain extent, the safety of dry gas seal is given a reference.The model is based on the dry gas seal structure, so the same or similar seal structure can be also accomplished through this program which has a certain universal.
