This paper is divided into two parts which are model and simulation of the vertical U-tube natural circulation steam generator. By the steam generator thermal-hydraulic characteristics and operating characteristics, I make the analysis and research on the division of the body to control the system. Meanwhile, the paper gives the mathematical model of each control volume and a loop side of the heat-carrying agent for heat transfer mathematical model. Based on the reasonable hypothesis, the model is simplified and its reasonable solution. The paper gives the heat-transfer coefficient formula and algorithm of the different heat-transfer areas. Feed water chamber model, first endothermic model, second endothermic model, rise model, steam model, primary model flow model and flow calculation model are given in this paper. Using lumped parameter method and according to the basic hypothesis of homogeneous flow model, operating parameters formulas of vapor-liquid two-phase fluid mixed are given and provide the important basis for the realization of the system algorithm. For better to simulate the operation of the system characteristics and to save the development time, the paper gives the fitting function to instead the method of enthalpy-entropy table query for some parameters defined. The algorithm and the module of each control volume can be defined based on STAR-90 simulation system. All of modules are reasonable connected to get the simulation model by the operating characteristics of the system. Considering the false water level as the effect to system, therefore, the water level is treated as one of the criteria of model rationality. Finally, under the conditions of other factors unchanged, the dynamic simulation experiments are finished by the feed water flow and primary heat- carrying flow changing. We can get the response curves of water level, steam pressure and steam flow of steam generator. The curves have proved that the model of the system is reasonable.
