In view of the current status of business management information system, a web-based information management platform is designed and developed. Web-based management information system adopts three-layers B/S architecture. Based on the traditional two-story structure, an application server is increased which makes application logic to be handled separately and allows user interface and application logic to locate in different platforms. Communication protocol between the user interface and application logic is defined by the system itself. The structural design makes the application logic be shared by all users.Design technologies of the management information system are discussed, which include system function and development methods, architecture, web-based development technologies and platforms. Development methods and common development techniques are analyzed and compared. Object-oriented development method and three layers architecture are made a detailed exposition concludes. Web-based management information system development platform and environment are proposed.Business information management system requirements of training institutions are analysed. Range of system development, system structure, business logic, subsystems, performance and other aspects have a detailed analysis, which lay the foundation for a summary design of the management system.Summary design of training institution business systems is presented. According to requirements analysis, the training institutions is divied into consulting management, lectures management, report management, system configuration consulting traffic management, document management and many other parts. Details of many functions are introduced and different restrictions are given by permissions for different users .Finally, training institutions business management systems is tested. The structure shows that this system works reliably to achieve a desired goal.
