Suqian College Campus Network Project Schedule Management

As the development of the computer network and the application of the multimedia, the campus network which has made the tremendous changes for the educational function and goal, teaching pattern has been the basic facility and requirement for the college. In order to change the old traditional teaching method and pattern, every college would utilize the network technology to build the strong campus network to meet the educational requirement. It's a must-be problem for every modern college on how to build the campus network correctly, and the schedule control which is related with the project profit is primary part. It's very important for the developing college to complete the project on schedule or ahead of schedule. Furthermore, Campus network is a long term systematic project which is hard to setup just with one-step. The cost, schedule and quality which are the primary task for the campus network need to be controlled in order to guarantee the completion of the campus network. The goal is to meet customer's requirement with high quality, low cost, short period, and high profit. Schedule control during the project is to draft out the reasonable plan and check the actual schedule within implementation constantly. Take actions to adjust the plan till to the completion if the error occurs. In other words, in order to meet the overall schedule, need to use every method, such as plan, organization, cooperation and adjustment, and take every means whatever you can use to finish the project.During building the SuQian college campus network, I have encountered the problem of the schedule delay and poor quality due to the bad cooperation among the host side, design side and equipment provider side. In this paper, based on the analysis on the schedule problem of the SuQian campus network project, the reason of the project delay is investigated and then we can draft the reasonable project plan, strengthen the schedule control and check, balance the effort among the construction side. Utilize the project management theory and method to plan the schedule and propose the suggestion on the project monitor and control within implementation.
