FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Arrays) is a kind of programmable device which is used widely through the world.,which can reduce the NRE(Non-Recurring Engineering) cost,design risk,Time-to-Market and maintenance cost of electronic system.So it’s widely used in communication,multimedia,industrial control, numerical computation and etc.This thesis works on the research and design of FPGA based on LUT architecture. It focuses on the design of the chip named FPGA-3,including the structure and function of the configurable logical resource,the dedicated interconnection in the TILE and the I/O dedicated interconnection.We also implemented the layout and routing of FPGA-3 based on full-custom circuit design methodology,especially the layout design of the TILE,which is the basic cell of chip FPGA-3 and FPGA-2.In the end,we introduced the outcome of the test of FPGA-2.Based on the SMIC 0.18um Logic 1P6M Salicide 1.8V/3.3V technology and full-custom circuit design methodology,we have finished the layout and routing of the FPGA-3 and have sent it out to manufacture.The FPGA-3 includes 3072 programmable logic slices,160 user I/Os,16 pieces of 4K bits block RAMs.We also implemented the design and tape-out of the chip FPGA-2.The testing results show that the chip manufacturing and function are successful and meet the technical parameters requirements.We implemented the circuit based on 29-bit multiplier and the secure algorithm circuit on FPGA-2.The application results showes that the utilization ratio of SLICE are above 90%and 50%,with operating frequency over 25MHz and 48MHz respectively.
