Radar control and display terminal is one of the important parts in radar system, it is in the charge of controlling the whole radar accurately, and in the mean time processing data got by radar effectively and showing the targets information to the tadar controller in a straightforward, accurate, effective way.With the development of computer technology, image processing and software technologies, there is a new trend to apply embedded system to radar control and display terminal. Embedded system can process data in digital domain flexibly and its powerful image processing and software technologies make it convenient to design radar control and display terminal, and software of radar control and display terminal improves compatibility and expandability of the whole system.xx radar control and display terminal is an embedded system which is designed to meet the specific requirements of the rardar system. The hardware archeteture integrates main processer MPC8540 of Motorala company and the graphics processer is Coral PA MB86296 of Fujitsu company. The embedded operating system is strong Embedded/Linux.Radar control and display terminal displays the image and status of radar and controls it. Radar control and display terminal needs to trace, identifies and renews the targets on the millisecond timescale. It also needs to have the ability of graphics acceleration and multi layers display to reduce the heavy burdens of CPU and twinkle of radar image. Besides, interacting the data of other subsystems is controlled by radar control and display terminal. The data is thousands of bytes, so many data are transmitted in subsystems and it needs to decrease the quantity of data transmission.The paper uses the Qt/E library and DirectFB library to implement the graphics acceleration module and multi-layer display module. The graphics acceleration module uses the graphics acceleration of graphics processor MB86296 .The result shows that it changes the flow of the data processing and improves the image processing of the terminal and releases the burden of CPU. Besides, it also implements the multi-layer display of graphics processor MB86296. It displays the less frequent changes such as scan background in one layer and displays the frequent changes such as scan targets in another layer, and the changes of the content of one layer do not influence the content of another layer. So it flushes the targets in time and reduce the quantity of data transmission.
