Speed radar display and control terminal is one of the important components of a radar system, which performs the man-machine interface, sends parameters to the radar, processes radar data and presents the information obtained to the observer in an intuitive and efficient way. With the rapid development of computer technology, ARM embedded system has gradually penetrated into all fields, which makes the design and implementation of portable radar of display and control terminal based on ARM embedded system has become possible. Using display and control terminals based on ARM embedded system can not only reduce costs and the volume, but also enhance the reliability and flexibility of the system, which can improve the overall system performance. With the development of image processing and display technology, more and more display and control terminals will use ARM embedded systems as its developing platform.According to the external ballistics speed radar application scenarios, the display and control terminal is requred to achieve the appropriate basic functions and to focus on the realization of communication function. The development of exterior ballistic speed radar display and control terminal includes the design and implementation of hardware platforms, the build of software development platform and the development of terminal application software. Among them, the hardware platform is built on AM3354 with necessary peripheral, which is based on Cortex-A8 architecture. The software development platform is based on the host-target cross-compilation mode, with embedded Linux operating system and Qt/Embedded, to build a cross-compiler environment. Terminal application software is based on graphical user interface development tools qt, to design GUI interface, and to achieve speed radar-related parameter setting functions. Applying polynomial fitting technology and doppler effecte, power spectrum and V-T diagram will be drawn. Relying on the powerful embedded Linux networking features, custom Ethernet and CAN bus application layer protocol, the communications among the terminal and remote PC, CAN bus network,remote PC and CAN bus network, can be achieved, which can lead remote PC and CAN bus network to remotely monitor the speed radar.
