The main task of this thesis is to study how sereval bluetooth devices in certain area can form a connected scatternet efficiently and automatically. Bluetooth Ad Hoc personal area network is an independent wireless network which is composed of Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices. It could freely communicate and collaborate with each other in the area without extra infrastructures. There are still many challenging points before it comes true. Before it becomes reality, many challenging issues should be addressed. The main issues are Bluetooth network topology formation, routing and scheduling. The research in the field is theoretically and practically important. I am mainly responsible for the part of the bluetooth network topology formation. The thesis researches on bluetooth Ad Hoc personal area network, analyzes the main algorithms and compared schemes of the issues what have been presented. Then, main approaches in system performance evaluation and key performance criteria of the network formation algorithms are discussed, and the performance of dominating its formation algorithms is summarized. It raises a series of related algorithms and schemes to analyze the performances and validates them with simulations. The topic of the paper is the improvement of algorithm based on the tree scatternet topology, because the expansibility of the tree scatternet topology is better. Algorithm has made improvements in the following three areas: (1) The way of selecting the first node; (2) The method of selecting standby node; (3) Designing the self-healing process of dynamic networks. At last, we introduce the related development platform for the whole issue. The algorithm above is simplified and modified based on the actual development platform. And then we give a scheme for the realization of the experimental network briefly.
