The intelligent test paper composition in the examination database is a problem of optimizing multi target parameters under the certain restrained condition. It is difficult to solve this problem with traditional mathematical method. Efficiency and quality of the automatic test paper composition wholly depend on the design of examination database and selection algorithm. With the quick development of computer technology, artificial intelligence, and the further research on education test theory, computer Assisted instruction is widely used in teaching activities. Some changes have taken place in the research on the intelligent test paper composition system. In the past, it was used to help the teachers get rid of the heavy work for test paper composition. Now the aim of the research on this system is to improve the quality of the test paper and efficiency of the system.On the basis of analyzing many foreign relevant documents, the thesis designs the intelligent test paper composition system based on genetic algorithm. The classical test theory, item response theory and genetic algorithm are applied in this system. It can automatically find and organize a certain number of items in various types, difficulties, chapter scope in the database to form a high quality test paper in short time.This article on the test paper in the system, the realization of the process, use of software engineering way, ASP dynamic website technology and SQL Server 2005 are used to design the intelligent test paper composition system based on genetic algorithm. The system proves that the theory in the thesis is correct and offers the proper solution to the problem in practice. It can be widely used in teaching activities.
