Passive Radar Systems, Microwave Communications Research

Passive location techniques use electromagnetic waves emitted by the target or other sources. Passive radar system was developed while active radar has been confronted with "the four threats", and has been playing an important role in aviation, space flight and electronic warfare.In most conditions, passive location system requires several station cooperate with each other to confirm the location. So, the stations in the system should have set up the microwave communication link in order to transmit the signal and data interrelated which collected by the radars. According to the request upwards, in this thesis, the main task is to design a information transmission system which can be applied in passive air defense radar.To serve the multi-base passive location radars, in this paper, the principle and performance of each modules in microwave communication system have been analyzed. And the relation between each performance request and each parameter of modules has also been introduced, here, some instances will be described. According to this thought, firstly, the paper discusses the theory and development of the passive location and passive air defense radar, then, the structure of video frequency impulse transmission system is be described in detail, and the key performance requests and implement methods are also researched deeply. After that, a video frequency impulse transmission system for passive air defense radar has been proposed, and this system has been tested in project, the test result has also been analyzed. Finally, the part of data transmission goes with the video frequency impulse transmission system has been researched and designed, therefore, a whole microwave communication system which can transfer not only the simulate video frequency pulse, but also the voice,data and orders has been erected.
