The simulation of virtual machining is the key of fundamental technology of virtualmanufacturing, and so it is the important component of virtual manufacturing system. Itrequests an immersible 3D virtual machining environment, which supplies panoramic,integrated simulation and analysis for the processing of product so as to evaluate therationality of machining process parameters and the machining quality of product. In thismaster thesis, what we do is to build a 3D virtual environment about virtual millingmachine based on virtual manufacturing, which can simulate the process of machiningabout milling machine.In the master thesis, the conception of virtual manufacturing and the developmenthome and abroad are introduced firstly. Then the methods of geometry modeling aboutvirtual machining are analysed and compared in detail. Based on the comparing, amodeling of triangleface is presented in the thesis, which included the merits of othergeometry modeling methods and its data configuration is simpleness which can be changedeasily. The simulating system oriented to virtual manufacturing is achieved by usingVisual C++6.0 and OpenGL which are run under the Windows XP system. There isfriendly interface the system researched, which can be operated easily translate theNC-code and simulate the machining of miller machine. Achieving the NC-code translator,building graphics module and designing the machining module are studied in detail in thethesis. At last, the content of the thesis is summarized and prospected.Although the system is be achieved, there are still many jobs needed to be done.
