Sar Raw Echo Simulation Study

Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a kind of high resolution imaging radar. Using SAR, high-resolution radar images are obtained under all climate, day and night and long distance conditions. It has a wide range of civil and military value.SAR raw signal simulator is essential in the design of SAR system. Simulator may provide different raw signals under different conditions. Simulator plays a significant role in optimizing parameters of SAR system, ground-testing SAR system and so on. So developing SAR raw signal simulator is of great significance.SAR raw signal simulation has been generally studied in the dissertation. The main content in this dissertation includes: 1. In the dissertation, RTDPC(Range Time Domain Pulse Coherence) is adopted to simulate SAR raw signal of point target. Classic RD image formation algorithm is used to test parameters of SAR system. Anti-jamming capability of SAR system is also analyzed with AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise).2. Facet model and Kirchhoff approximation is used to calculate backscattering coefficient of the three-dimensional scene with stochastic distribute, and a method of raw signal simulation of distribute target is discussed based on RTDPC. Kirchhoff approach and Currie model are compared. Since the vertical wall of buildings is smooth, multi-scattering contribution must be considered. Urban scene SAR raw signal simulation is carried on and preferable result is achieved.3. An implementation of SAR raw signal simulator is given. The implementation includes two parts: software and hardware. Software is used to generate SAR raw signal data while hardware is used to generate real-time raw signal for debugging SAR signal processor.
