The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) of the Infrared Focal Plane Array (IRFPA) is one of the important parameters for analyzing and appraising the infrared imaging system. And the MTF of the Infrared Focal Plane Array (IRFPA) reflects the ability of the systems to transfer the different frequency's objects. This paper developed the study for the testing system and the testing technique of the MTF. It is a part of the research project named the study of testing system for measuring the MTF of cooled 288 X 4 HgCdTe FPA.The content in this dissertation is summarized as following:In part 1, the relationship between MTF and image quality are introduced briefly. Then, the research background and the importance of the this dissertation are explained. In part 2, theoretical study related to the MTF testing is introduced , summarizing the testing methods of MTF and analyzing the testing principle and the method of the scanning detectors and the staring detectors. In part 3, the hardware and software of the testing system is introduced; making the PRO-16I16O card's conference to control the amplifier, choosing the sixteen signals circuit and the electromotor is discussed. In part 4, the driving circuit of 288×4 Infrared detector and making the circuit arediscussed. In part 5, writing the procedure to test the MTF of Infrared detector, protracting the coordinate of MTF_Frequency and the single cell Infrared detector curve of MTF_Frequency; sampling the data of the second-generation Infrared detector are the main jobs.In part 6, the whole work is summarized and some problems remaining to be solved are pointed out.
