With the development of technology, the structure of product is more complicated, the functions of product are more powerful, some advanced technologies such as information and intelligent are used generally. It is difficult to diagnose the fault of product and keep its performance well; the leading actor of maintenance is turning to manufacturer gradually. Just for adapting to this changing, remote diagnosis and maintenance system based on Internet is come into being. The purpose of this paper is to provide a system that can realize remote fault diagnosis and maintenance for popular user.First, the architecture of remote diagnosis and maintenance system is established in this paper. The system is divided into three layers, which are customer diagnosis, maintenance service station and remote maintenance center. In addition the logic architecture of system and definite relations between each module are analyzed in details, and the information model of system is built up is this paper. Second, based on the theory of fault, a practical algorithm of system reliability is developed through the application of Monte-Carlo simulation method in this paper. This algorithm not only can avoid the large workload of enumerate all faults of a product, but also can point out the unreliable part of product, So that the manufacturer can improve his product through the guidance of this algorithm, as well as diagnose the fault of his product easily. Third, on the basis of this algorithm, the optimal preventive maintenance period model according to the principle of the most availability is established in this paper by the method of simulating the total life cycle of a product. The model is mainly based on the polynomial regress mathematic method. At last, an example of remote diagnosis and maintenance system is given in this paper.
