University Campus Network Construction In China

National education and research networks have been set up one after another in almost all of the developed countries since 1980's.It have become the most important infrastructure in education and research fields, and advanced these countries' fast development in these fields.In our country, we attached great importance to the education's informationizatoin. Since 1994 we begun to invest and set up China Education and Research Network (short for Cernet). With the construction program of Cernet, the construction of Campuses Network of Higher School in our country takes on a new look, which advanced by leaps and bounds. But there are still some questions we must think and research, such as, what kind of campuses network shall we set up? how to bring it into play successfully?especially, how to organize, construct and manage the information resources on the campuses network? etc. The following article will analyze the topic from two sides: one is the hardware construction of the campuses network, the other is the software construction.The first chapter is the introductory remarks, which gives the research significance and ideas of this paper . The second chapter is the research of campuses network construction about higher school. It mainly explores its aim, function, the principles must be abided, and the content of the construction. Besides these, the direction and procedure of the construction have been mentioned. After that, we also discuss the applied requirement and management after the campuses network was set up. Thethird chapter mainly discusses the importance and content of the construction of information resources on campuses network, the problems and the solutions in the construction are put forward, and the strategies in the construction. The fourth chapter gives a detailed proposal to several main kind of information resources construction. The fifth chapter mainly takes Central South University as an example to analyze its campuses network and its information resources construction. The sixth part is the concluding remarks.
