Abstract The publishing work at the end of the Qing Dynasty?is very important in the Chinese publishing histov\? Contrast to traditional publishing work, it embodied new setup. The paper will talk about the significance of the new setup from three aspects. About organization form, it showed that the main body became more and more nongovernmental and the district became more amid more centralized. About management form, it showed that investment became more and more elastic and management form became more different. About the content, it is different from the traditional publishing, too. For example, textbook aimed to develop people抯 intelligence. miovel publishing aimed to make people have new looks. And the translating hook became the main part of western science. The i-esults were made by two factors: one was the times?changing, the other was new point about the act of publishing .The new setup showed that it was closer to advanced world level and improved the liberation of our nation.
