Corba-based Distributed Workflow Management System

In routine ,with the widespread application of computer ,much work has been finished by computer. At the same time, those work has been support by all kinds of information system. But basically, these information system are run independently , among these information systems ,they lack of the necessary interaction,. cooperation, inter-perception, it result in a serious shortage in cooperating to finish some common task when they must coordinate many people's activities, this is the reason that why workflow management system has attract the wide attentions from research institute and industry field. As a important study aspect of computer supported cooperation work, the main object of workflow management is to coordinate every links of business procedures to make it run in some definite sequences to fulfill the automation in business procedure by invocating concerned information resource and human resource. some basic ideas in workflow management derive from inchoate "Office Automation","Document Management","Table Sheet Processing"and so on. At the point of view of CSCW,WFMS is a kind of groupware system used to support cooperation among people in different place. It's the development of groupware from supporting synchronous .. no-structural cooperation to supporting formalistic, structural cooperation. This article refers to many research thesis on workflow management system and put forward a kind of method to develop distributed workflow management system based on CORBA by combining advanced distributed development technique at current time. It also study the application of Petri-net in modeling and analysis in workflow management system. finally, it gives an imaginary system. The first chapter narrates the origin of workflow, at the same time, introduce s the application of workflow techniques in information systems frequently used in enterprises such as ERP, PDM, BPR. this article thinks that workflow management technique is a important technique which must be applied to information management in enterprises, it also elaborate the actuality and the development trend in future of the study of workflow management technique around world. The second chapter introduces some conception need to understand in workflow management system, and it gives concrete definition of some pivotal conception. at the same time, it elaborate the reference model structure rendered by Workflow Management coalition and every interfaces"function set in the reference structure, it also involves in some implementation techniques used to implement workflow management system. The third chapter introduces the application of Petri-net technique in workflow management system. It elaborate some conceptions relative to Petri-net and analysis technique, and put forward a concrete way to construct procedure model in workflow management system with Petri-net. At last, It gives some methods to analysis the workflow net and gives some theorems. This chapter also describe briefly the way to emulate workflow procedure with Petri-net. The fourth chapter narrates the origin., the actuality and development of distributed computation technique. It compares the most common techniques used to construct distributed information system, and then analysis the system structure of CORBA.
