In recent years, with the continuous enrollment expansion of colleges and universities, course management, especially on the curriculum and classroom distribution, has been becoming more and more important. This impacts on the teaching quality and the students’ cultivation greatly. In most of colleges and universities, the increase of teachers and classroom resources is far behind the growth in the number of students. So, how to arrange curriculum scientifically and reasonably is very important, and it is also one of the key sectors in the teaching management. Scheduling courses artificially is not only time-consuming and laborious, but also mistakable. And these disadvantages affect the teaching efficiency and quality. Therefore, it has never been more necessary to develop an automatic course scheduling system that meets the real needs of college.This thesis introduces the course scheduling system’s background and the purpose of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of Zhongshan Institute, meanwhile, describes the main researching content and the task as well. In the business analysis, the thesis makes specific business process analysis through activity diagrams, and provides enhanced business process analysis. In the function analysis, Use case analysis and Use case descriptions are used to illustrate the function of the system. System package diagram and the feather package diagrams are also provided in the following. In the data analysis, thumbnail diagrams are given to analyze the entity class relationship and the database table structure. In the end, this thesis summarizes the main content of the research and analysis, and puts forward the prospect of further work in view of the existing problems.
