Because of the rapid development of global economy, the rural areas have muchmore abundant modern medias than ever before. To give priority to mobile phonesand the Internet, new medias gradually get into the countryside. Even so, in ethnicminority rural areas, economic level and cultural level are both relatively low, TV isstill occupying its “hegemony” status. TV’s getting into these areas filled in the gapsof traditional entertainment life and public space in country, added a new informationentry to the traditional information isolated country, and brought “from scratch” newexperience to life in the countryside. TV’s getting into the ethnic minority villages isan irreversible process, in today’s fast development of the rural modernization, TV“coverage every village” is a common phenomenon. The connection between thecountry and TV is much closer and more comprehensive. The traditional ethnicminority village life and television are contacting more and more.This article uses the combination ways of the literature material method andethnographic research methods, utilizes the cross discipline backgrounds ofcommunication, sociology and anthropology, chooses Youshi village of WeiShancounty as a case, under the background of the working boom and the influence ofrural modernization, analysis and studies TV and the ethnic minority daily life. Thispaper analysis the villagers as audience of TV through the observation andunderstanding of the Yi ethnic minority villagers in Youshi village, ultimately reflectshow TV as a new communication method integrates with traditional communicationenvironment in Youshi village.According to the article, the emergence and popularity of TV strengthened theconnection of ethnic minority village and the outside world. TV has become thewindow for people to get to know the new things and accept new ideas. Because ofthe increasingly rich content of TV, people generate some kind of trust anddependence to the TV. In the end, the in-depth influence of television gradually makesTV form a kind of new information environment in Yi ethnic minority village. In people’s traditional communication environment, the new informationdissemination environment formed by the TV is dispelling the traditional singing andreligious culture in some degree. But the influence of the presentation is different. Inaddition, TV has contributed to the socialization of children. It also brought newinformation and wealth. In interactions with minority rural life, TV has brought thetraditional rural life great impact. At the same time, the Yi ethnic minority villagersaccept the TV in their own way.
