The development of Hospital Information System has been a long-term and arduous task. In connection with such means as the computer's network communication of technology and computer software and hardware technology, HIS system has conducted a multi-angle comprehensive management to all the materials, manpower, and finance affairs of the hospitals and their subordinate departments all over the country. The construction and development of the Hospital Information System aims to transform and reshape the traditional hospital management system, which can also function as an important method and means to improve the comprehensive management ability of contemporary hospitals.According to the actual situation of contemporary Chinese hospitals, it made a comprehensive illustration to the general situation, characteristics and development tendency of both the domestic and international hospital management information system. Moreover, it provided the whole design idea of the system, the effective design model, and the system's structural diagram, on the basis of the overall goal in hospital design. This paper comprehensively and detailedly introduced some functions and roles of the medicine management in the contemporary hospital information management system, and also analyzed the functions of the hospital management subsystems and the relationship between all the functions. Then it put forward the design scheme of pharmacy management subsystem, clinic drugstore management system and hospital pharmacy management subsystem simply and accessibly. Based on study of the demands and actual use of the customers, the paper considered the system design scheme and the diversity of subsystems, and finally offered the limits of authority and security settings of the medicine management subsystem in the hospital.To sum up, the demands of hospital development and the construction of hospital information management system are strongly connected. The paper firstly analyzed the management thoughts of hospital drugs, then designed and realized the medicine management subsystem of the hospital information system, and at last came up with a full set of information technology solutions for the standardized management and circulation of hospital medicine.
