Theoretical Study Of Foreign Entrepreneurial University

In the last 2 decades of the 20th century, in Europe and America as well as Asia and Latin America, there were a few universities which developed the similar innovative patterns in response to the demands and pressure that the universities faced inside and outside it. These universities did not totally depend on the governments any more to get the funds and the developing chances. They made use of their own intellective innovation to introduce the funds into the hi-tech enterprises that they esteablished. At the same time, the universities accelerated the transformation of the original science and technology creations, developed the new enterparies, and transferred the technical patterns to the enterprises. Therefore, "entrepreneurship" has become the outstanding character of these unverities in the past decades, and they gain the new tittle "Entrepreneurial University".The rise of Entrepreneurial University is ont only the important phenomenon in the higher education, but also the significant phenomenon in the development of the human society. What's more, the universities with entrepreneurship integrate a mission for economic and social development.This dissertation focuses on the theory development of the Entrepreneurial University and consists of five chapters. As the preface, chapter 1 puts forward the necessity of the research of the entrepreneurial university, introduces summarily the main contents, framework and methods. Moreover, it summarizes the relative literatures as the base of the definition of the entrepreneurial university in the following chapter. Chapter 2 elaborates the definition of the entrepreneurial university and compares the the entrepreneurial university with the researching university and the innovative university. Chapter 3 discusses the important theory foundation of the entrepreneurial university, the Triple Helix. Furthermore, it also introduces the roles and effects of the entrepreneurial university in different styles of the Triple Helix. Chapter 4 analyses the function innovation and organization innovation of the entrepreneurial university. Firstly, the teaching, researching and entrepreneurial functions have the outstanding features comparing with the traditional university. Then the entrepreneurial university has the special organizations to manage the entrepreneurial activities. Chapter 5 summarizes the contributing conclusions of the dissertation.
