Teaching practices certificate when senior high school students learn, use and process English sentences, they encounter many difficulties, especially English Syntax cognitive defect problems. With the lack of English syntax cognitions, they often feel not easy to understand English sentences; and furthermore they also lose chances to expand their ability of listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating or interpreting, and also communicating with others in English. Considering all above, we think it important for senior high school students to get cognitive ability of English syntax structures.This paper mainly focuses on the design and development of English syntax learning resources, which is based on the instruction of varied theories, such as Linguistic Theory, Learning Theory, Instructional Design Theory, and on the help of my graduate education tutor, and also on the summaries and refine of many years of my English teaching experiences.Having completely analyzed English syntax cognitive issues which senior high school students may encounter with and also gone through many research results of English syntax from both home and abroad, I began to design and develop English syntax learning resources on KY Digital Teaching Platform, with both the instruction of Linguistic Theory, Learning Theory and Instructional Design Theory and the pre-analysis of learners’ needs.A universal English Syntax Model, which it is easy for senior high school students to learn and use, is put forward by the means of displacement and substitution of different sentence elements with the reference of one standard and complete Chinese sentence structure.Based on the universal English Syntax Model, some syntax models such as Simple Sentence Syntax Model, Compound Sentence Syntax Model and Complex Simple Sentence Syntax Model and so on, are refined in means of displacement and substitution of different sentence elements. These models are suitable for helping senior high school students, in a cognitive way, to learn English syntax structure.These models are deeply and completely explained and analyzed in a fully new mathematical logical method so that they could be understood easily by the learners. And one idea that English sentences are consisted of a single sentence in different ways is put forward.English syntax learning resources are designed under the instruction of Teaching Design Theory and on the pre-analysis of learners’ needs. The designs include knowledge framework, contents chosen, goals edited, learning strategies, media chosen, evaluation design, interaction design, process design, learning resources contents model, learning process design and so on.These parts, such as MVC programming model, the main technical methods for developing English syntax learning resources, and the functions of several important models of KY Digital Teaching Platform with its working flow, are described for readers. And also one special example about how to develop the English learning resources is given. Finally, one another practical case on how to use the resources, which have been designed and developed, is completed.The last part of this paper gives its summaries, innovations, limitations and views about what will be researched more in the future.
