Objective Meeting today's severe employment situation, the training of the applied medical personnel is the important subject need to solve in the current medical education, it plays an important role in improve the adaptability of clinical work and future development of the medical students. This study was designed to define the concept of applied medical personnel in theory, and establish clinical competence training model that aim at applied medical personnel according to the current practice environment, and improve the clinical competence of medical students and the adaptability of the future jobs, provide reference for the current training of applied medical personnel.Methods The study was on the basis of full research and reading a large number of documents and experts interviews,learning from practicing physicians in the form of examination and "Chinese undergraduate medical education standards", to the education target classification and meta-cognitive theory of modern psychology as a guide. Establishing the model content and structure of clinical competence training model that aim at applied medical personnel and Madding an investigation of students and clinical teachers in the implementation process by a questionnaire and adjust the content model timely according to the feedback results. The effect of the mode analyzed from the three of final examinations, clinical skills, and communication ability.Results The model including the two modules of training and assessment. The training module include three aspects of cognitive domain, psychomotor domain and affective domain, assessment module include standardization test paper and OSCE and SEGUE scale assessment. The model has been practiced in 2002,2003,2004 grades undergraduate student of the hospital, The test' scores of 2002,2003,2004 grades clinical medical undergraduate students, which organized by the medical college was statistical analysis, the result showed the students' score increase year by year, significantly higher than in other hospitals practiced, the difference was statistically significant. By surveying145 students and 62 teachers which participated in the model, we found that the student' satisfaction was 95.86%,the teachers' satisfaction was 98.38%. Graduates quality tracking survey for part of unit of choose and employ persons found that good quality evaluation of graduate rate was 100%.The model has certain practical and operational. Conclusion This study defined the concept of applied medical personnel in theory, establish clinical competence training model that aim at applied medical personnel. After three years of practice, the model has a significant effect of teaching, improved the clinical skills of medical students, the quality of clinical practice and adaptability to future work. It played an active role in training of applied medical personnel.it have the meaning of inspire in probing into the clinical medical teaching module adapt to our own national conditions and promoting education and teaching management from the experience management to science management.
