Objective: To explore the effects of vibroacoustic massotherapy on improving the psychosomatic and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with functional dyspepsia (FD), and to study the conduting and receiving sensibility of the sound wave and electric current at the main points of the spleen and stomach meridians in lower limbs of these patients. Methods: 23 FD patients without medication were treated with vibroacoustic massotherapy for two weeks (three times a week). The effect of vibroacoustic massotherapy was evaluated by using the questionnaire of gastrointestinal symptom and SCL-90 before and after the treatment. The receiving sensibility of Gong tonality vibromusic sound wave at the main points of the spleen and stomach meridians were tested by using the eradiating and receiving sound wave system before and after the treatment. At the same time, TDS had been used to test the conduting and receiving of the eletric current at these points. Results:The results shown that the total scores in the Gastrointestinal symptoms questionnaire and SCL-90 after the treatment were significantly less than that before treatment(P<0.01).The effective rate was 82.61% in the gastrointestinal symptom questionnaire and 60.87% in SCL-90. Excepting regurgitation, the scores of gastrointestinal symptoms after the treatment were less than that before treatment (P<0.01 or P<0.05). Excepting the fear factor, the factor scores of SCL-90 after the treatment were less than that before treatment (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The receiving of the Gong tonality vibromusic sound wave at all the main points was moresensitive after the treatment, esp. Shang Qiu and San Yin Jiao (the spleen meridian), Zu San Li(the stomach meridian), Qiu Xu and Yang Ling Quan(gallbladder meridian), Kun Lun(kidney meridian)(P<0.01 or P<0.05). Excepting Shang Qiu (the spleen meridian) and Zu San Li (the stomach meridian) at left side, Shang Qiu (the spleen meridian) and Zhong Du(liver meridian) at right side, the conduting and receiving of the eletric current at these points of lower limbs was less than before (P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusion: In patients with Functional Dyspesia, the vibroacoustic massotherapy might improve the gastrointestinal and psychosomatic symptoms, and increase the conducting and receiving sensibility of the Gong tonality vibromusic sound wave and the electric current...
