OBJECTIVE: To evaluate and analyze the current situation and tendendy of the various drugs use in 10 hospitals of Hunan province.,especially foxcu anti-infective agents, drug for cardi-ovascular system drugs, and antitumor drugs.METHODS: The medication data obtained from 10 hospitalsof Hunan province during the period from 2004 to 2005 were statistically analyzed kinds ofdrug, the total of money of drug purchase , dose; frequency of drug use and daily cost (DDDc) according to the DDDs and the sum order.RESULTS: The total amount of money for various drugs pruchase had been steadily increasing, but the growth rate has begun to decrease. The amount of money for purchase of anti-infective agents always ranked the first., but the percentage declined year by year, anti-malignancy drug, drug for cardiovascular system, and vitamins et al increased by a wide margin. The total costs of anti-infective agents used in 10 hospitals had increased 21.66% within two years, the consumption, kinds, and DDDs order of Penicillins, Cephalosporins, and Quenolones ranked first three places all the time, the forth cephalosporins had the most rapidly increasing. Anti-infective showed an large motion among first ten of DDDs order. The total costs and DDDs of cardiovascular drugs used in these hospitals increased sharply within two years. The consumption of antianginal and vasodilating agents ranked front places. Most of them had the more clinical efficient and less DDDc routine drug. The consumption of antineoplatic drugs during the period 2004～2005 showed an increasing tendency. Tamoxifen were used most frequently. Paclitaxel occupied the first place in the list of sum of money. CONCLUSIONS: The total amount of money for various kinds drug purchase has been steadily increasing. The cost of anti-infective agents tend to increase. The consumption of Penicillins, Cephalosporins, and Quenolones was the highest in the order of sum of money of antibiotics. Kinds and the sum of money of consumption of antibiotics motion.Largely.
