| A systematic review was made upon studies of diabetes mellitus in pathogeny, progress of drugs' application, and prevention and treatment of Chinese medicine. Basing on the review, a study on the Cortex Mori and Siegesbeckia orientalis L., a blood sugar-reducing Chinese medicine, in pharmacological experiment of the drug's effect was investigation. The subject is briefly described as following.1. We used diabetic animals model which were induced by streptozotocin, observed the effect of drug on the blood sugar, food-intake, water amount drunk in experimental diabetic mice. And dynamically observed the action of the drug on the steptozotocin-indu -ced diabetic mice. The result showed that all the Cortex Mori water extracts, Cortex Mori alcohol extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. water extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. alcohol extracts were have the therapeutical effect on' the diabetic mice. And significantly decrease water amount drunk also have a marked antagonistic effect on the blood sugar increased by the streptozotocin-induce mice. The impact of water extracts are better than alcohol extracts.2. We adopted the method of inject people insulin to observe the insulin sensitivity in the steptozotocin-induced diabetic mice which were administrated Cortex Mori water extracts, Cortex Mori alcohol extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. water extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. alcohol extracts. The result showed that all of them increased insulin sensitivity in steptozotocin-induced diabetic mice. 3. We used the method of the steptozotocin-induced diabetic model to observe the impact of sugar tolerance administrated with Cortex Mori water extracts, Cortex Mori alcohol extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. water extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. alcohol. The resuit that all of the drug improve sugar tolerance.4. We used the method of the steptozotocin-induced diabetic model to observe the effect of insulin-resistance administrated Cortex Mori water extracts, Cortex Mori alcohol extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. water extracts, Siegesbeckia orientalis L. alcohol. The result that all of the drug improve insulin-resistance. |
