Stasis France Assisted Western Chemotherapy Involved In The Treatment Of Advanced Primary Liver Cancer Clinical Research

Because of the unapparent symptoms and rapidly-progressed ailment of primary liver cancer, most liver cancer patients, diagnosed for the first time, are already in the latter period of this disease, which makes them lose the best opportunity for clinical cure. However, with the ongoing effort and research of the Chinese medicine scholars, nowadays a therapeutical remedy integrating Chinese medicine and western medicine has been formed, showing a better effect than the traditional one. This research finish the evaluation of the clinical curative effect of San-Huang-San-Jie capsule in the treatment of primary liver cancer, and suggested a therapeutical method of removing blood stasis and clearing away toxic material, combined with the chemotherapy in the middle/latter period. There is also some discussion about the treatment of liver cancer in the middle/latter period, that integrating the Chinese medicine and western medicine.This research investigated 120 liver cancer inpatients/outpatients from three hospitals in Beijing from December 2004 to March 2007. 120 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Treatment group was treated with San-Huang-San-Jie capsule combined with chemotherapy, while control group was treated with chemotherapy only. Patients in treatment group took 4 pills every time, three times a day for continuous 60 days. All the patients were chemical examined before the treatment began and one month after the treatment finish. All the clinical index were recorded and statistically analyzed.After conducting the statistical analysis of the curative effect, safety, side effect of San-Huang-San-Jie capsule, the result showed:①The curative effect of tumor and the improvement of clinical symptoms are better in treatment group ( P<0.05).②For treatment group, the descent range of NK cell is lower and the CD3, CD4, CD8 values are higher, compared to the data of control group ( P<0.05). This indicates that the Chinese herbal medicine can effectively protect cell immunity function damaged by chemotherapy repression.③After treatment, the life quality of the treatment group is significantly better than the one of the control group ( P<0.05). This indicates that the integration of chemotherapy and Chinese herbal medicine can improve or increase patients'living quality.④The serum AFP of both groups decreased, however, the treatment group decreased more than the control group ( P<0.01). This indicates that San-Huang-San-Jie capsule in combination with chemotherapy can reduce the level of AFP better.⑤The evaluation of the side effects of chemotherapy, such as the damage to the function of liver and kidney, the abnormality of blood routine, and the heart toxication, shows that the treatment group has lighter side effects than the control group ( P<0.05). This indicates that San-Huang-San-Jie capsule in combination with chemotherapy can alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy better than simply conducting chemotherapy.In conclusion: In comparison to pure chemotherapy when treating primary cancer, the integrated treatment of San-Huang-San-Jie capsule and chemotherapy does show better clinical effect. It incarnates liver cancer treatment principle of removing blood stasis and clearing away toxic material. It shows the effects in repressing tumor growing, improving the clinical symptom, alleviating the side effects of chemotherapy, strengthening the chemotherapy curative effect, increasing the living quality of patients, and improving the immune function etc. This research embodies the characteristics and advantages of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine with western medicine, and further guides the clinical treatment of the liver cancer. It provides a new choice for treatment for liver cancer in middle/latter period in the future.
