As an important factor that reflects the rules of formula compatibility, the dosage of ancient formula is mainly influenced by the vicissitudes of dynasties and development and changes of the metrological unit system. How to research the dosage of ancient formula and its close relationship with the rules of compatibility? This paper takes 1055 pieces of formulae as a sample and attempts to regulate the dosage of ancient formulae by modern measurement "gram" properly on the basis of regulating the herb and the formula information. Furthermore, this paper unifies the data of formula with different dosage forms and different administrations into daily dosage of decoction. Then the two kinds of relative dosages are used to analyze the rules of formula compatibility. This study includes three parts as follows:The first is the transformation of data concerning formula and herb. According to the standards of sample collecting, categorized formulae in treating spleen and stomach is collected, and dosage of formula is unified in term of unified and authoritative comparatively criterion.The second is the supplement and criterion of data concerning formula and herb. This part unifies some dosage forms, like decoction, pill, powder, ect., into daily dosage of decoctions, according to the certain criterion, and also fills up the "equal dosage", according to the original description, and the vacancy, which makes the dosage data more perfect.The third is the study and analysis of the relative dosage. This part adopts two methods to the calculation of relative dosage, based on the proportion between normative dosage and its range and then analyzes the rules of formula compatibility according to relative dosage.The thesis performs the automatic transforming and regulating processing of dosage of the ancient formulae with Data Preprocessing and explores the method of unifying dosage of different dynasties and different dosage units, and attempts to analyze the rules of compatibility of formulae with two relative dosages, which is more advanced than many others till now. The result proves that regulated data is closer to original intention of ancient TCM doctors, which has active and important significance for the studying of the compatibility rules of ancient formulae and herb and also for optimizing formula construction.
