| Gastric, esophageal and cardiac cancer are all most common cancer in china. But at the molecular level, little is known about the mechanisms involved in their carcinogenesis. There may have some difference in their metastatic status, invaclinical properties and diffusion, although they are in similar area. Furthermore, the classification of the cardiac is still argued. Therefor, exploring the difference of expression patterns in gastric, esophageal and cardiac cancer will be helpful to the future clinic diagnosis and therapy. In this article, to explore the difference of mechanism in gastric, esophageal and cardiac cancer, oligonucleotide microarray was applied to the comparison of gene expression profilings and identify the novel cancer associated genes. The pattern data was analysed with hierarchical clustering methods, and several clusters genes was found expressed at higher level in one cancer compare with other ones.36 genes were identified associate with gastric cancer: 17 genes were overexpressed and 19 genes were underexpressed. Meanwhile, 22genes were found differentially expressed in esophageal cancer and noncanerous tissues: 13 ones overexpressed and 9 ones underexpressed. In cardiac cancer there are 13 genes up-regulated and 6 genes down-regulated. These differentially expressed genes was related to apoptosis, Cell cycle , Extracellular matrix structure metabolism. All the tumor samples was absolutely distinguished by hierarchical clustering. It is said they are different cancers. At last, the patterns of variation in expression of different three higher expression cluster genes in gastric , esophageal and cardiac carcinoma in 9 tissue samples were analyzed by hierarchical clustering algorithm, and three groups of samples were successfully distinguished. It is suggested that the method use microarray, which is fabricated by the specific cancer associated genes, to distinguish different cancers may be helpful to the future clinic diagnosis and therapy. |
