Objective: To reveal the influence of electro-acupuncture therapy on the mitochondrial enzymatic activities of hippocampal neuron of animal model of Alzheimers' disease (AD) and partly explore the mechanism of electro-acupuncture therapy on AD.Methods: The AD rats induced by D-glacatose and β-amyloid1-40 were acupunctured on "Baihui(Du20)" and "Yongquan(Kidney 1)" according to the therapeutic principle of "Tonifying kidney and dredging and activating Du meridian, Reviving brain and promoting intelligence". The treatment was once daily and lasted for 20 days. The changes of study and memory abilities before and after model-making and treatment of AD rats were observed to evaluate the curative effect. The activities of Succinic acid dehydrogenase(SDH), Na+-K+-ATPase, Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase of mitonchodria of hippocampal neuron were detected after treatment. Results: 1, Comparing with control group ( 23.21±1.97s) ,the average delitescence of electro-acupuncture group (19.60±2.67s) are obviously decreased (P<0.05 ); Comparing with control group (6.87±1.80 times/min) , improper times of electro-acupuncture group (5.82±1.67 times/min) are obviously decreased (P<0.05) ;2, Comparing with control group (3.9093±0.6455 U/mgprot) ,the activities of SDH of electro-acupuncture group (6.6951 ± 0.7443...
