| Objective To study the protective effect of TSTD-1 on cold preservation injury of rat liver. Methods We compared the effects of Lactate Ringer's (RL) solution including TSTD-1 in various dosage and molecular weights with that of RL solution added nothing by using an isolated nonrecirculated perfusion rat liver model. The liver functions in the preservation solution and the expression of tumor necrosis factor a (TNF- α ) in the rat liver were identified after cold preservation for 12 and 24 hours. Results The value of ALT and AST in all the TSTD-1 groups were significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). We also found the l%MK17 TSTD-1 group was better than other TSTD-1 groups in cold preservation of rat liver for 24 hours (P<0.05). The same conclusion could be drown by the expression of TNF- a in rat liver. Conclusion The TSTD-1 had an obviously protective effect on liver preservation, and l%MK17 was the best one. The mechanism may be the protective effects on the cell membrane of TSTD-1 in a low temperature associated with the TNF- α decrease, and TSTD-1 can act as a colloid in the storage solution. |
