Acupuncture Treatment Of Takayasu Arteritis (brachiocephalic Artery) In Clinical Trials

Takayasu's arteritis is a common clinical disease in Norh of China. No.1 affiliated hospital of TCM college of TianJin uses warming Yang and replenishing Qi, dredging and regulating channels, promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis as basic principles of treatment to treat Takayasris arteritis (type head-arm-artery ) with acupuncture and moxibusion and has better therapeutic effect. In this study, eighty patients were observed for clinical therapeutic effect (forty patients were therapy group and the others were collated group). And we observed the change of extremital and intracranial blood flow, extremital temperature, ablility of blood antioxidation and immunologic function to reveal the mechanism of the therapeutic effect of this disease treated with acupuncture and moxibusion. The results showed that the therapeutic group had remarkable effect comparing with collated group. Acupuncture and moxibusion can improve blood flow situation of limbs and brain, raise extremital temperature, strengthen the ability of blood antioxidation, and better the level of immunity.
