Immense changes in the business environment have been caused by the rapid development of information technology. The deployment and collocation of information technology resources (ITR) became more important to enterprises in the information era. IT resources have turned into important strategic resource today. While IT resources have to be deployed properly by business process (BP), so that it could create business value for firms. It is because the application and deployment of IT resources to create business value could not be separated from the business processes. On one hand, nearly all the organization resources are deployed by organization processes, and on the other hand IT capability is embeded in BP. As a result by reviewing recent literatures, we posit that a process perspective appears particularly salient.The purpose of this dissertation is to study the relationships between IT resources and firm performance through the process perspective and to test the complementary effect of business process. After reviewing the past literatures, this dissertation concluded the harvest and localization of past research, and then developed a conceptual model insolving IT resources, BP capabilities and firm persormance. By collecting data of firms in China this dissertation examines the relationship between IT resources and business value from a processs-oriented perspective, and also helps to identify the complementary effect between IT resources and BP capabilities.In this dissertation, questionnaire was used as research instrument during the data collecting. We sent outal together 240 questionnaires to firms in Yangste River areas and got back 150. During the data processing, we mainly use descriptive analysis, factor loading analysis, and structure equation modeling to verify hypotheses in the model.Finally, we concluded the contribution of this dissertation on theory research and the informatization of firms, and then we discussed the objection of this dissertation and further direction of future research...
