Counterintelligence is an active defense method to protect the secret and normal operating of companies. Counterintelligence allows companies to offset competitor intelligence gathering activities and slow competitors on one's gathering intelligence, at the same time counterintelligence also played a early warning to the attacks which come from competitors.
